Foreign Students in Singapore
Was let off early from a tutorial today and saw the usual crowds of students studying and preparing for their exams (ya, mine too, soon). Then I realised something...It may seem obvious to a lot, but do you know that foreign students, especially our China couterparts actually put in a lot more effort into their studies? Not that Singaporeans don't, but for every reference book that we casually glance through and "absorb along the way", the China nationals have to occasionally look at their e-dictionary to find out the meanings of words.
I can imagine me going to Beijing University and studying chemistry in Chinese! Woohoo! That will be the day you will see me with, not 1, not 2, but 3 dictionaries! Yes, I am just being a Singaporean.
Oh, why 3? One to do a Chinese-Chinese explanation. If that fails, I will need a Chinese-English dictionary. So that's 2. As for the last one, an English-Chinese dictionary for good measure. =) Just in case the Chinese-English one translated wrongly. =P
